Genre: Documentary
Statement: In the shadow of Mount Snowden, Dinorwic quarry, scars the landscape of North Wales. As you climb through the quarry galleries and abandoned skeletal remains, you see the scale of what was once one of the largest slate quarries in the world. The further you ascend, the more you are immersed in the solitude and isolation of this forgotten world. You are left wondering, how the quarrymen lived, endured, and forged a life out of the mountain. How generations of quarrying have left an impression so haunting and destructive, yet now filled with its own surreal beauty.
